Roofing, Gutters and Siding for Your Home
We work on six things, all on the outside of your home: roof replacement, roof repair, roof inspections, storm damage repair, gutters and siding. These parts depend on each other. A gutter that overflows soaks the fascia board behind it until it rots, and a cracked rubber pipe boot can leave a stain on a ceiling two rooms away from the actual hole. So when we look at one part, we check the parts around it and tell you what we see.

Roof Replacement
Full tear-off and new roof system, from decking and ice barrier to ridge vent, with your landscaping covered and daily updates.

Leaks, lifted shingles and failed flashing traced to the part that let go, then repaired with your floors and landscaping protected.

How a Job Runs, From First Call to Final Sweep
Most jobs follow the same five steps, whether it is a full replacement or a gutter run.
- 1
Free inspection
We walk the roof and check shingles for granule loss and lifted tabs, look at flashing and pipe boots, and check gutters and fascia. If there is a leak, we look in the attic too. You get photos of what we found.
- 2
Written estimate and plan
The estimate lists each part of the job. We also tell you where the trailer will sit, which beds we will cover, and the planned start date.
- 3
Prep and tear-off
Tarps and plywood go down first. Then we strip the old roofing to the deck, inspect every sheet and replace anything soft.
- 4
Installation
A self-adhering membrane is rolled out at the eaves and down each valley to stop ice-dam water, followed by drip edge, synthetic underlayment, starter strip and shingles fastened to the manufacturer's nailing pattern. Every pipe boot and step flashing piece is new.
- 5
Cleanup and walk-through
We sweep for nails, clear the gutters of grit and haul away all debris. Then we walk the job with you and answer questions.

A Roofer Who Watches the Ground as Closely as the Roof
Roofing Walton works on homes across Northern Kentucky. Freeze-thaw winters, ice building at the eaves and spring wind and hail wear on roofs here, and most of our work traces back to one of those causes. We tell you which one it is, because knowing the cause shows whether a patch will last or the whole roof is near the end of its life.
We also know a roof job happens at your house, with your kids, pets and garden nearby. So we plan the parts you will notice: where the crew parks, what time we start, what gets covered and how the yard looks when we leave each evening. If the schedule shifts for weather, you hear it from us first.

What Moves the Price of a Roof Job
We do not price from a satellite photo. The number depends on what is on your roof and what is underneath it, and some of that only shows up once we are on the ladder. These are the factors that change it most.
After your free inspection you get a written, line-item estimate. Should tear-off expose rot or damage nobody could see from above, work pauses while we show you the problem and settle any added cost with you.
- Size and pitch
- Roofs are measured in squares, each 100 square feet. A steep pitch needs roof jacks, harnesses and slower footwork, so it takes more labor per square than a walkable roof.
- Layers to tear off
- A second layer of shingles nearly doubles the tear-off weight and disposal. It also hides the deck, so its condition stays unknown until the old layers come off.
- Condition of the decking
- OSB or plank sheathing that has gone soft from a slow leak has to be replaced before new underlayment goes down. We price replacement per sheet and show you each bad section.
- Flashing, vents and penetrations
- Chimneys, skylights, plumbing vents and wall-to-roof joints all need new flashing. Switching from box vents to a continuous ridge vent adds cost but helps the attic shed heat and moisture.
- Materials you choose
- Architectural shingles, synthetic underlayment and how far the ice and water membrane runs up from the eaves all affect the total. We explain what each one does on your roof.
- Access and permits
- Landscaping tight to the house, a steep driveway or a long carry to the dumpster adds time. Where the city or county requires a permit, the fee is part of the job.
How We Work on Your Home
A roof job puts a crew, a trailer and a lot of torn-off shingles right next to your house. This is how we keep that orderly and keep you informed.
- 01
Your yard covered before tear-off
Before the first shingle comes off, we lay tarps over flower beds, shrubs and the strip along the foundation, and set plywood against the AC unit and lower windows. Old shingles go straight into a trailer or dumpster, not onto your grass. Every evening we roll a magnetic sweeper over the lawn, driveway and walkways to pick up stray roofing nails.
- 02
Floors protected when we come inside
Some jobs need a look from the attic, to check the underside of the decking or follow a leak back to its source. We lay drop cloths from your door to the attic hatch and wear shoe covers indoors. Tear-off shakes dust loose in the attic, so we tell you the day before and you can cover anything stored up there.
- 03
A short update every work day
You will know what got done, what we found and what happens tomorrow. If we open the roof and find soft decking, you see photos and the cost before we replace a single sheet.
- 04
Covered while we work above you
Roofing Walton is licensed and insured. That matters when a crew spends several days on ladders and roof edges above your home.
- 05
Workmanship that stays covered
Our installation work comes with a 10-year labor warranty. It covers the workmanship we put on your home: the flashing joints, the nailing and the details that keep water moving off the roof.
Questions Homeowners Ask Us
Something not covered here? (859) 249-9133
How do you decide between repairing my roof and replacing it?
We judge how far the wear has spread. A few blown-off shingles or one cracked pipe boot on an otherwise sound roof is a repair. When granules are worn away on every slope, the shingles snap instead of flexing, or the deck feels spongy underfoot in more than one spot, replacement is the better spend, since new patches keep failing next to the aging material. We show you photos so you can see the reasoning.
Is the roof inspection really free?
Yes. We check the shingles, flashing, vents, gutters and, when needed, the attic, and give you photos and a plain explanation. There is no obligation to hire us afterward.
How do you protect my landscaping and driveway?
Tarps go over beds and shrubs before tear-off, and plywood shields the AC unit and lower windows. Debris goes into a trailer or dumpster, never onto the lawn. We sweep for nails with a magnet every evening, not just on the last day.
Can you help after hail or wind damage with my insurance claim?
We inspect the roof, photograph the damage, such as hail bruises, creased tabs and missing shingles, and explain what we found. You can share that with your insurer. The adjuster decides what the policy covers, and we can be there when they inspect so the damage is pointed out clearly.
What warranty comes with your work?
The labor on our work is covered for ten years, which means the way we set flashing, nail shingles and seal around vents and pipes. Shingles and other materials also carry their own manufacturer coverage, and we walk you through what that includes for the products on your roof.
How long does a replacement take, and do I need to be home?
Most single-family roofs take one to a few days, depending on size, pitch and how much decking needs replacing. You do not need to stay home, but we ask you to be reachable in case we find something that changes the plan. Expect noise during tear-off.
What signs mean I should have my roof checked?
Look for shingle granules collecting in gutters or at downspout outlets, curled or missing shingles, and stains on ceilings or around the chimney. Icicles hanging heavy from the eaves in winter can signal ice dams forcing water under the shingles. Any of these is worth a free inspection.
Are you running a special right now?
We are. The current offer reads Limited Time — $50 Off Your First Service Call. Bring it up while we are setting up your visit on the phone, and we will write it onto your estimate so the savings show on paper.
